Agriculture Minister David Marit is looking to promote the province's ag sector and strengthen relationships during a five day trade mission to the U-S.

His goal this week is to promote Saskatchewan as a reliable supplier of high-quality agricultural products, and encourage investment opportunities in the province's value-added sector.

The U-S is a key export market with Saskatchewan agri-food exports to the United States totalling more than $4.3 billion in 2021.

The mission will focus on canola, wheat, oats, malting barley, pulses and cattle.

The United States was Saskatchewan's top market for live cattle, with $152 million in exports.

On Tuesday, he'll speak at the Colorado Cattlemen's Association Annual Convention in Colorado Springs.

Marit will also be working on strengthening research and investment ties with the U-S.
