A good night for the Kindersley Jr. Klippers started with an early goal by Noah Edstrom just 4:34 into the first period, with the assists going to Brock Evans and Josh Morton. This came after an early altercation where Carson Baylis got a goaltender interference call at 1:45, with some roughing penalties by Jr. Klippers Cash Arnsten and North Stars Jordan Grill assessed as well. Kindersley was shorthanded twice in the opening period, including the early altercation, but manged to kill off both penalties. The period was an even one on the shot clock, as the North Stars and Jr. Klippers had 10 each after one. The Jr. Klippers held the 1-0 lead heading into the second.

Battlefords came out in the second period, and similar to the previous took the play to Kindersley, scoring twice. The first was by Tynan Ewart, his third in two games against the Jr. Klippers at the 9:11 mark, with the lone assist going to Jordan Gibbs. The North Stars kept pressing, and got the go ahead goal by Marshall Light on a rebound, with the assist going to Keiton Klein. The shots were 11-8 Battlefords in the second period, and 21-18 North Stars overall after two.

The third period was all North Stars in the shots department, but thanks to splendid goaltending from Cody Jaman, the Battlefords could not add to their lead. This including three big penalty kills by Kindersley, and they were finally rewarded with a powerplay of their own in the latter half of the period. The Jr. Klippers tied the scored on a deflection by Noah Edstrom off of a Battlefords defenseman out front, with the assists going to Liam Bell and Adam Paplawski at the 14:26 mark. The North Stars pressed late in the third period, hemming the Jr. Klippers in the defensive zone for the last few minutes of the third period, but once again Jaman stood tall, and the teams went to overtime. Battlefords out shot Kindersley 13-4 in the third period.

Just like the previous evening, the 3-on-3 overtime did not last long, as Liam Bell put in a rebound on a smart shot by Brock Evans, to give Kindersley the 3-2 overtime win.

Kindersley wraps up their preseason on the road tomorrow night at the Elgar Peterson Arena against the Humboldt Broncos at 7:30 pm, before the regular season starts against the North Stars at home on September 16 at 7:30 pm.
