It was an impressive postseason run for each the girl's and boy's basketball team this year out of Unity, as well as the McLurg High School girl's team out of Wilkie as well. They were the only local teams to make it to HOOPLA this year, and though none were able to secure gold, they all capped off their season with an SHSAA provincial medal.

Starting with Wilkie, they played in the second game of the night on Friday against Moose Jaw Cornerstone. Some intense competition from the city team wasn't enough to keep the girls from victory, as they narrowly won by only three points 63-60. That led them to the championship game against the host team Wynyard, and the storybook run for the girls team out Wilkie ended with a 81-43 final in the gold medal game.

They won silver, and as for Unity's girls, they took home bronze following an opening game loss to the eventual champion St. Walburg. The season would end on a winning note, as they defeated Kamsack 59-50 to cement themselves in third.

As for the boy's team they had an enthralling run to the final game, winning by only one point against Fort Qu'Appelle 60-59 to secure themselves a chance for the gold. Their storybook run would come to an end as they matched up with the always impressive Osler VCA in the gold medal match, losing 71-48 as they returned home with silver.

Check out the full brackets from this past weekend below, and congratulations to all the players on a great season!
