U13

The West Central U13 AA Wheat Kings regular season has ended, and they are getting ready for their first-round playoff series with the Northeast Wolfpack. The Wheat Kings jumped up to 10th in the standings after their 6-5 win over the Saskatoon Kodiaks on Sunday.

Leading the way for the Wheat Kings were Landon Reschny with two goals and two assists, Anderson Reschny had four assists, and Carter Torry chipped in with two goals as well. Emerson Zerr and Channer Brown also had a goal in the win.

The top 3 scorers in the regular season for the U13 AA Wheat Kings were Landon Reschny with 27 goals and 15 assists for 42 points in 23 games. Right behind him was Anderson Reschny with 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points in 24 games played. And Carter Torry had 16 goals and 9 assists for 25 points in 24 games played. 

The dates for the series against the Wolfpack have not been announced, but it needs to be completed by February 22. It will be a best of 3 series.


U15

The U15 AA Wheat Kings are currently sitting in a playoff spot in the north division heading into this weekend's action. The team is in 7th, with a 2-point lead over the North West Stars, and a 5-point lead over 9th place Prince Albert. The top 8 from each division will qualify for the playoffs. 

The Wheat Kings were idle this weekend in league play but will return to action this Friday and Saturday on the road. They will play Prince Albert on Friday at 8:30 pm, and then the Saskatoon Stallions on Saturday at 2:30 pm.

Their final game of the season will be at home versus the Estevan AA Bruins at 3:00 pm from the Co-op Arena in Kindersley.

Leading scorers for the U15s are Tristan Mitchell-McElhone with 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points in 27 games played. Right behind him is Kaden Sperle with 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points. And rounding out the top three is Austin Schafer with 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points in 22 games played. 


U18

The U18 AA Wheat Kings season has come to an end after splitting their games over the weekend. The U18s won on Friday night in Saskatoon against the Sabercats by a score of 5-4. Jared Abrams scored two for West Central in the victory, including the game winner.

The next night wasn't as successful for West Central, as they fell 5-1 to the hometown Saskatoon Riverkings. Scoring the lone goal for the U18s was Brett Bahm. 

The leading scorers to end the 2022-23 season for the Wheat Kings were Kayden Cey with 19 goals and 7 assists for 26 points. Keagan Lowe was second with 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points. And both Austin Burton and Jared Abrams had 20 points, with Burton getting 10 goals, and Abrams had 8.
