Back during the city's time hosting both Saskatchewan Provincial Curling Championships, DiscoverEstevan's Nolan Kowal chatted with curling icemaker Jayson Braaten about the transformation from hockey ice to curling ice at Affinity Place.

"We'll go out there and we have to take the zamboni out and get rid of all the marks they make doing that," said Braaten, who's been making curling ice for about 40 years. "We just try to flatten off the hockey ice as best as we can, because we don't have a very big timeframe to flood things up obviously."
