Luck ran out!
The first two weeks of November allowed farmers to combine after a dismal October. Sunshine and above normal temperatures were a welcome sight for producers in the area. West Central Sask completed 90 percent according to the last crop report.
Crops that remain include mostly low grade cereals, flax and canary seed. Problems that are reported include bleaching, fusarium and sprouting. Crop insurance extended most programs and application deadlines. November 16th saw a breif snow storm and snow remains in the forecast for 24 hours.
Seasonal temperatures are expected for the rest of the month.
