This year marks a milestone for Synergy Credit Union with 75 years in business. To help celebrate the occasion a business known for giving back to the community gave back once more.
On a beautiful day in June, Synergy held a BBQ for ALL students in Kindersley, which amounts to about 900 kids in total!
During their lunch breaks, Westberry Elementary and Elizabeth Middle school made the trek for a delcious afternoon. Followed by students from Kindersley Composite High School later in the afternoon. Kindersley Branch Manager Shaun Henry said the schools came at staggered times but there was a ton of barbequing to be done.
"I've never heard well oiled machine more often than today, we had 4 lines of kids going through and to be able to put 350 kids through in 15 minutes was pretty suprising when you have the little guys going through. We're always trying to work as hard as we can for our members. That's one of those things of the co-operative principle to do that each and every day."
Henry also told us why Synergy Credit Union has been so succesful the past 75 years.
"We're definitely community minded, helping out the community and helping each other out. Working together to take deposits and lend it out to those who need it. A big thanks to our members for their support so we can come back to support the community like we have with the Fat Cats Splash Pad and our big donation to the pool. That's just part of what we do in our community"
Synergy Credit Union will continue to celebrate their past presidents this Friday with a beef on a bun lunch at 12:15 PM.
