First off, Happy Mother's Day to all of the special mothers in the world that continue to be the best versions of themselves.
Believe it or not, Mother's Day came into existence in the year of 1914 when it became a National Holiday to be recognized in all parts of the world. In its 100+ years of existence, there have been major changes in how the day is supposed to be properly celebrated.
In its early days, people observed Mother's Day by going to church, and by writing letters to their mothers. Eventually, sending cards and giving gifts and flowers were added to the tradition.
Many mothers in the West Central Region start their day off with a family brunch made by other members of the family, or at a local restaurant. Some mothers prefer the afternoon activities that involve a calm tea party with snacks at a local establishment with some of their friends from town. To finish off the day, many mothers make supper plans to attend with their family as they share their favourite meal together.
Mother in the West Central Region had the chance to attend several events on their special day including:
- Elrose Mother's Day Brunch @ Elrose Uniplex.
- Eatonia Mother's Day Tea + Bake Sale @ Eatonia Oasis Living.
- Kerrobert Seniors Mother's Day Tea + Bake Sale @ Kerrobert Seniors Citizen Hall.
- Dahling Productions Mother's Day show in Kindersley.
