The Rosetown AAA Redwings recently announced the addition of a new player in the club. 

25-year-old Jordan Fransoo from North Battleford spent his last 4 season with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and is now gearing up to join the Redwings lineup for the 2018-19 season.

In 2015-16, his best season for the Huskies, Fransoo scored 3 goals and got 16 assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-14.

Redwings Coach Keegan McAvoy said with experience in CIB (Canadian Interuniversity Sports), Fransoo was a highly sought-after addition to the team. 

"Just the lure of potentially winning a national championship we hoped was enough to get him," McAvoy said. "so he's gonna be a big addition for us."

He talked about what kind of player Fransoo is. 

"He's like one of those guys with a CIS pedigree that plays both ends of the ice very well," McAvoy said. "He's strong on the puck, he's gonna give us a little bit of punch coming out of our own end and jumping in offensively a little bit, especially in our league. You know that's something that's much needed in our back-end here over the last couple of years so we're excited to have a guy like that."

McAvoy said he'll first join the team when they get started with practices in mid-September and added they have an exhibition tournament planned for the end of September.
