Three wins in their first four games of the season, the Biggar Nationals are off to a high-flying start in the Sask West Hockey League. They are currently second in goals for and have the second-best goal differential in the league.
This weekend may be the club's toughest test yet when they play back-to-back games on the road against the remaining undefeated clubs in the SWHL.
Their first matchup is tonight at 8:30 p.m. versus the Wilkie Outlaws at the SaskCan Community Centre. Biggar and Wilkie have yet to play each other this season, but the two teams are at the top of the league when it comes to scoring goals.
The Outlaws are at the top with an incredible 34 goals in only 3 games played while Biggar is right behind with 33 goals. Fans can expect a high-scoring game in this one.
After Wilkie, the Nationals will take a trip down to Kindersley tomorrow night when they have their rematch with the Senior Klippers. Puck drop will be at 8:00 p.m. from the Co-op Arena.
In their first meeting this season, the Klippers walked out of the Jubilee Stadium in Biggar with a 4-3 win. Since that loss, the Nationals have tallied 24 goals in just two games.
Tonight's game in Wilkie will be the start of 5 straight road games for the Nationals. Biggar fans will have to wait until Friday, December 21st versus the Outlaws for the next Nationals home game.
