Golf is one sport in the province that has been able to get going this spring, and Eston Riverside Park’s Karen Mullis says it was a busy first weekend at the course.

"We put through quite a few rounds, the first weekend of opening was big, and this past Sunday we put 119 rounds on the course," she said.

She also said that preparations were being made to make the greens better moving forward, as volunteers sodded them in the wind this past week.

"We had a huge group of volunteers come out and help yesterday (May 27) come and help clean the greens, the maintenance crew was top sanded them as well, and we hope to see our greens looking really good in a week or so," Mullis says.

Mullis also said that the Regional Park will be opening on June 1, and most people who pre-booked campsites at the park are still heading down at the beginning of June.

Weather is expected to be great for the weekend, so it looks like Eston Riverside, and all other courses in the west central region, are in for another busy weekend.
