The Kindersley Klippers will play some Tuesday night hockey on the road at 7:30 p.m. from the North Battleford Civic Centre against the Battlefords North Stars.
The Klippers are aiming to reclaim first place in the division and second in the league tonight when they visit their division foes. It's a neck-to-neck race in the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division with the North Stars (56 points), Klippers (55 points) and Broncos (53 points) all in the hunt to become the leader of the division.
Tonight's contest will be no easy task for the Klippers. The North Stars are on a four-game winning streak and have only dropped three of their last eleven games. Although one of those losses were from the Klippers at the Civic Centre when Kindersley took it 3-2 in overtime before the new year.
These two last met on Friday night in Kindersley. It was a frustrating outcome for the home side; the North Stars piled on more shots than Kindersley, 43 to be exact; and the Klippers couldn't solve Joel Grzybowski in the third period as the Battlefords came through with a 3-1 road victory. And of course, the game had its rowdy moments including a couple fights in the second period.
Fans can expect more fireworks in this evening's contest between the bitter division rivals. A win for the visiting Klippers will give them back the division lead, but a loss will have them sink farther away from the division lead.
The game will also be a part of a live television broadcast as the SJHL has made it the "Game of the Month". A pretty accurate title for a game featuring two of the best teams in the league this season.
