Colin Berglof had the chance of a lifetime to compete on the National stage at the World Junior Lacrosse Championships recently.
Not only did Berglof get the chance to wear the red and white uniform with some of the top Lacrosse players in the country, but got to do it in his hometown in Saskatoon.
Canada went undefeated throughout the tournament with preliminary wins against the United States (16-7), and Iroquois (26-9) to secure a spot in the Gold Medal Game. Canada went on to face Iroquois in the finals and secured a 15-10 win to earn the Gold Medal on home soil.
Berglof was a key piece on the Canadian roster in every game. In two round robin games combined, Berglof added 2 goals and 3 helpers for 5 total points and would later add a goal and an assist in the Gold Medal Game.
Berglof is on the Saskatchewan Swat Junior A Lacrosse team and was one of seven players from the club to be named to the national roster. It was very special for Berglof and his teammates to win the Gold Medal in their home province.
Outside of Lacrosse, Berglof plays hockey for the Delisle Chiefs Junior B hockey club in the Prairie Junior Hockey League.
