The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers had a very successful weekend on the road winning all three games. The road trip started in Notre Dame Thursday night with a 4-2 over the Hounds with Sean Michalevich scoring a pair of goals and Brett Neumeier getting the winner in the third. The Klippers then headed to Weyburn on Friday night and came out on top 2-1 in a shootout with goaltender Zach Johnson making 36 saves in the victory. Caden Benson scored the lone goal in regulation and Scott McKenzie got the shootout winner for the Klippers second victory on the trip. Kindersley finished up in Estevan Saturday with a big 5-1 win to have a perfect 3-0 road swing. Tyler Traptow, Scott McKenzie, and Dawson McKenzie each had a goal and an assist in the victory and Zach Johnson made 48 saves on 49 shots to preserve the win. The three game win streak brings the Klippers record up to 6-7-1 and out of the basement of the Global Ag Risk Solutions division 3 points behind the Humboldt Broncos. The Battlefords North Stars continue atop of the league with a 15-1 mark this season. Dawson McKenzie leads the team in scoring with 18 points in 13 games with Austin Nault and Kyle Bosch in second with 15 points each in 14 games. The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers are finally back home for the first of 5 straight home games and will play the La Ronge Ice Wolves Wednesday at 7:30 at the West Central Events Centre and the Flin Flon Bombers Friday and Saturday at the same time as well.
