The Kindersley Senior Klippers have added some pieces on the blue line heading into the 2019-20 Sask West Hockey League season. Former SJHL player and Iron Horse Junior Klippers player Tate Page will be joining the team after 3 seasons in the SJHL all with the Klippers. He had 7 points in 31 games last year with 116 penalty minutes and should add some toughness to the back end. They also added some former National Hockey League talent as well by picking up Eric Gryba from Saskatoon. Gryba spent time last season in the American Hockey League with the Binghamton Devils and New Jersey Devils of the NHL last season. He was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2006 in the 3rd round and is a veteran of 7 NHL seasons and 10 in pro hockey. After graduating Boston University in 2010 he joined the Binghamton Senators of the AHL and after playing there for 4 seasons he joined Ottawa in 2013. He had his most successful season in 2014-15 with 12 assists in 75 games with 97 penalty minutes. He then joined the Edmonton Oilers the next season and after 3 years there he was traded to the Devils before the 2018-19 season. He is set to make his debut for the Sr. Klippers at home on October 26th against the Macklin Mohawks.

Another addition up front this season is Presten Kopeck from Medicine Hat. He played 4 seasons in the WHL with Portland, Red Deer (where he was an assistant captain), and Spokane. He’s spent the last few years playing in the White Mud Hockey League for the Shaunavon Badgers where he put up a pile of points including 48 points in just 12 games last year leading the team. The Sr. Klippers have a preseason game against the Kerrobert Tigers Saturday night at 7:30 at the West Central Events Centre.
