The Kindersley Klippers have acquired defenseman Blake Kleiner from the Drumheller Dragons in exchange for a player development fee.
Kleiner was born in 1998 in Lethbridge, Alberta where he captained the Midget AAA Hurricanes before entering the Junior A rank with the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL.
In 62 AJHL career games Kleiner picked up 17 points and 73 penalty minutes.
Kleiner joined his new teammates on their current four-game road trip and could see his first game action as a Klipper tonight in Weyburn against the Red Wings.
Kindersley has also acquired goalie Zach Johnson from the Notre Dame Hounds for a player development fee.
Johnson was signed to Notre Dame this season after playing AAA hockey in Tisdale last season. The goaltender has been injured during the beginning of the year, and is hoping to play his first SJHL game this season.
The Klippers' previous backup goalie Billy Girard is unlikely to rejoin the Klippers after returning to the United Stated during the holiday season. Girard is from Boca Raton, Florida and previously played for the Selects Hockey Academy of the USPHL.
