Two home games remain for the Kindersley Klippers before they begin the 2019 SJHL Playoffs later this month.
The action starts tonight from the West Central Events Centre when the Humboldt Broncos are in town at 7:30 p.m., before the Notre Dame Hounds make their way to Kindersley tomorrow for a 7:30 p.m. start. The Hounds will be the Klippers' last home game opponents on their schedule.
Heading into their final matchup with Humboldt, the Klippers have won their last four versus the Broncos and lead the season series 4-1. Last week's 4-1 and 4-3 wins at the Elgar Petersen Arena were critical for the Klippers as it keeps them in the hunt for the division title. Kindersley holds the same head-to-head record against the Hounds this winter, too.
Currently, the Klippers are in first place in the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division and are 1 point off of first in the league standings held by the Melfort Mustangs. The Battlefords North Stars are behind by one point while the Broncos trail by three.
The Klippers will wrap up their regular season schedule on Tuesday in North Battleford when they square off against the North Stars at 7:30 p.m. in what will likely be an absolute must-win for the Green and Whites.
Whoever manages to win the division on Tuesday night between Kindersley, Humboldt and the Battlefords will at least finish in second place. There is a chance the Klippers can lock in home ice advantage for the entirety of the playoffs, but it will all depend on how the Mustangs and Hawks fair in their final games of the season.
