The Kindersley Klippers finished up their four game road trip this past weekend with an overall record of 1 win and 3 losses, earning only two points in the standings out of a possible eight.

After splitting the two games played against the Notre Dame Hounds, the Klippers travelled to Weyburn for a pair of games on the weekend held at the Crescent Point Place. The Klippers have played the Red Wings three times already this season and have managed to win all three games in the season series, but were unable to add a fourth win over the weekend.

On Friday night, the Klippers were simply outmatched on the scoreboard and especially on the shot clock as they were out-shot 41-19 after three periods. Weyburn scored within the first three minutes of the game as Erik Olson scored his 15th goal of the season for his team, and continued to control the tempo of the game.

The Red Wings made it 2-0 on the power-play in the second period, but the Klippers answered back within minutes to cut the lead in half at 2-1. Kindersley's goal was scored by Brody Ryberg (his second goal of the season) and assisted by Eddie May.

In the third period, the Red Wings took control of the game by adding an early insurance goal to make it 3-1, and would add a fourth goal late on the power-play to put the game to bed. Kindersley was out-shot 14-4 in the final period, and ended up with a 4-1 loss.

Switching up to Saturday's game, the Klippers were able to generate more offense in this one, and add a few more tallies to the score sheet.

Kindersley scored the first goal of the game in the first period as Austin Nault launched his 6th goal of the season, assisted by Brock Shwaluk and Tyler Traptow. The Klippers out-shot the Red Wings 16-10 in the first frame and looked to keep the pressure on heading into the second.

But the Red Wings had other plans. In just a four minute span halfway through the period, the Red Wings managed to score three goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead, and then added a late second period goal with approximately one minute left to play to make it a four goal period. The Klippers were still able to out-shoot the Red Wings 14-10 in the period, but just couldn't find a way to capitalize on any shots.

Kindersley wasn't going down without a fight, however. The Klippers earned themselves an early power-play to begin the third period and took full advantage as Brody Ryberg scored his third goal of the season, assisted by Keillon Olson and Cody Hodgson to cut the lead in half.

The Klippers kept the pressure on the Red Wings as the period continued and were rewarded again shortly when Eddie May found the back of the net to make it a 4-3 game. May's 6th goal of the season was assisted by Noah Turanski and Cameron Shorrock.

Unfortunately, the Klippers weren't able to find a tying goal and came out with a 4-3 loss. The team now has an overall record of 13-10-2-2 with 30 points in the standings.

Kindersley will try and get rid of the three game losing streak that has been created from the road trip when they begin a five game home-stand on Tuesday night as they welcome in the Humboldt Broncos to town. The Klippers are still looking for their first win of the season series with their division rivals, as the teams have battled four times already this year.
