This weekend's SJHL schedule starts with a rivalry game at the West Central Events Centre this evening. The Kindersley Klippers will play one game at home and one on the road before they're off for a short break for New Year's celebrations.

The action starts tonight in Kindersley when they take on the Battlefords North Stars before they travel to North Battleford for a repeat matchup at the North Battleford Civic Centre Saturday night.

It has been quite some time since these division rivals have faced off. Their last outing was back on November 24th when the North Stars held on for a 4-2 win over the Klippers. Although Kindersley still leads the season series 2-1 heading into tonight's big game.

Fast forward to the present, the North Stars and Klippers have each played 34 games with Kindersley four points ahead in the standings at 48 points. Both teams are also duking it out with the Humboldt Broncos in their division standings as Humboldt as 45 points in 37 games.

2018 has been quite the year for the Klippers as they have managed to stay competitive at the top of the league standings. They currently have the division lead and are not far behind the league-leading Nipawin Hawks and second place Melfort Mustangs.

Tonight's game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. from the West Central Events Centre. Same start time is expected in North Battleford tomorrow night from the Civic Centre.
