The Kindersley Klippers began their four game road trip on Tuesday night against the division rival; the Notre Dame Hounds.

In their one previous game this year, the Klippers earned a win on home ice in a hard-fought 2-1 win back on November 25th. Tuesday's game ended in the same result with the Klippers earning two points in the standings, while the Hounds were left empty handed.

Kindersley's starting goaltender Justen Close faced 30 shots on the night, and made all 30 saves to earn his first shutout of the season. Close is having another tremendous year with the team, and it's showing through team results, as well as individual player stats. Close has a 2.53 GAA (Goals Against Average) which has improved from the previous season, and leads the league in Save Percentage with 0.932%.

Keillon Olson made his debut with the Klippers in Tuesday's contest after being traded from the Nipawin Hawks made his presence felt immediately. Olson added two key assists in the game in the 3-0 win, which is something Klippers fans might be getting used to as Olson averages one point per game.

On Wednesday night the Hounds returned the favour with a 5-0 victory from Notre Dame.

The Klippers find themselves with six games on hand with the Notre Dame Hounds and Humboldt Broncos, but currently sit in the bottom of the Olympics Building Division by just 7 points. Kindersley will complete the pair of games against Notre Dame, and travel to Weyburn for two games against the Red Wings.

Following this four game road trip, the Klippers begin a stretch of five consecutive home games leading right up to the Christmas break. With 9 games left until the break, the Klippers will have an opportunity to jump ahead in the standings with their busy schedule.
