Logan Linklater of Kindersley will be making his way to Red Deer in 2019 for the Canada Winter Games. The roster for Team Saskatchewan was announced earlier this week and included his name.

"Excited for sure. It's a good opportunity to play against some of the best players from all provinces," Linklater said making Team Saskatchewan is at the 'top of his list' for hockey accomplishments.

The Canada Winter Games take place in Red Deer from February 15th to March 3rd. The male hockey competition will be held in the latter half of the event, February 16th to the 22nd.

Linklater said he hopes to play his best and make an impact on the team, "Just play good and do my part for the team, that's the biggest thing. When you get to play for your province, it's exciting."

Team Saskatchewan will play three preliminary games, against the host team Alberta, then British Columbia and Manitoba.

Linklater is currently in his rookie year with the Swift Current Legionnaires, in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL). The team currently sits in third place in the league with a record of 17 - 6.

"We're winning games, having fun and it's a good group of guys," Linklater said it's been a great first half of the hockey season. "We're going to the Mac's Tournament in Calgary and we just have to keep finding ways to win games."

In 24 games played, the forward has earned 8 goals and 7 assists for a total of 15 points.
