Over the weekend, the Kindersley Midget Klippers hosted their home tournament at the West Central Events Centre with teams from Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Participants included the Saskatoon Flyers, Saskatoon Outlaws, Regina Blues, Raymore Rockets, Shaunavon Badgers, Swift Current Wild, Grand Prairie Knights and the Calgary Mavericks.

Unfortunately for the Klippers, the tournament did not go as they had hoped.

The tournament opener on Friday was a goal fest between the Klippers and the Flyers, but Saskatoon won 11-6. Kindersley's next opponents were the Badgers who scored a couple more times to win 5-2. Then in Kindersley's final round robin game, the Klippers lost 6-2 at the hands of the Calgary Mavericks.

The Regina Blues were crowned "A" side champions after defeating Grande Prairie 6-1. The Raymore Rockets took home the "B" side with a 5-2 victory against the Calgary Mavericks.
