Provincials for senior boys volleyball kicks off this weekend with tournaments being hosted throughout the province.

The Leader Composite School Saints and Wilkie's McLurg High School Broncos will represent the west central region in the 2A bracket with Melfort and Kinistino as joint hosts.

McLurg has been placed in pool A with Meath Park, Minahik Waskahigan High School from Pinehouse Lake, Wawota and Carrot River. As for LCS, they are in pool B with Montmartre, Medstead, Kinistino and École Canadienne from Saskatoon.

Lana Marshall is a teacher at LCS and serves as the Saints' head coach. She applauded her players on a memorable season of volleyball and hopes they can win it all this weekend to cap off a great year. Although she knows the task at-hand won't be easy.

Marshall and her players made the trip up to the Melfort/Kinistino area yesterday afternoon. While the team will be 5 hours away from home, it sounds like the Saints will have some home support at the away tournament after all.

Coach Marshall has more.

The Leader senior boys will play their first game at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon versus Kinistino. As for the McLurg Broncos, they'll play the first game of the weekend at Melfort & Unit Comprehensive Collegiate starting at noon today against Meath Park.
