The Rosetown Angels received an invitation to compete in the annual Father's Day Senior Men's Baseball Invitational in Saskatoon over the weekend. Teams from all over Saskatchewan, and even Alberta were invited to compete in this special tournament, which displays the most competitive teams in the area.

The Angels were the only team invited from the Fertile Valley Baseball League, where they have a record of 5 wins and 0 losses. The Angels have won the Championship 5 times out of the last 6 seasons, and have dominated the league ever since it began.

Games began on Friday night, however, the Angels weren't scheduled to play until Saturday morning, and then again later on in the afternoon. However, not a single game was played during Saturday due to the rain overnight. The tournament was ruled to be cancelled, which left all teams extremely disappointed.

The Father's Day tournament is one of very few ways for the Angels to get a look at other teams throughout the season, and see how they can compete against other teams in the province, and other provinces. The decision for the tournament to be cancelled left everyone disappointed, even though it was ultimately the right call.

The tournament will not be getting rescheduled due to lack of time and preparation to plan out another weekend full of baseball, which means the Rosetown Angels will continue their successful season in the Fertile Valley Baseball League. The Angels are scheduled to play against the Kyle Yellow Jackets in Kyle on Tuesday evening.
