With the 2018 Allan Cup coming to Rosetown from April 9th to April 14th, the Senior AAA Rosetown Red Wings are going to be looking at some arena upgrades to make for the best possible viewing of the tournament.

The final game of the Allan Cup is going to be broadcasted on national television, and the brightness in the rink needs to be improved for the viewers across the country. Keagan McAvoy, Head Coach of the Rosetown Red Wings, talks about what other rinks in the province have been recently doing to fix the lighting issue.

"Most rinks around Saskatchewan have been upgrading to the new 'LED' lights, and have had positive reviews." McAvoy stated.

McAvoy said that since the Allan Cup is coming in April, that there is no better time to increase the lights than now.

"We plan on doubling the brightness in that building by taking out the old lights, and replacing them with the new 'LED' lights."

There will also be extra netting added on the areas of the rink to create a safe area for fans to sit and enjoy the games. With the new netting and brightness being added, the Allan Cup committee has stepped up to help facilitate it.

Compared to previous Allan Cup host committees, this year's Allan Cup is sure to have an excellent sheet of ice to play on with an electric crowd to take in the action.
