It's been a few years since a Senior Girls Basketball team was playing at Outlook High School due to the lack of interest in the sport, but the return of a team was bound as the sport has grown in large amounts in the past several years around the province.

The team is made up of mostly Grade 10 girls, with a few Grade 11 girls this season. Although the girls are young, the positives to take from this is that they will be around for a few years to help grow the basketball team and develop their skills as they get older.

So far, the girls have held several practices working on basic drills as they prepare for their first league game tonight.

Janet Warren, the Manager of the Outlook High School Senior Girls Basketball team, talked about the excitement of having the basketball program back at the school, and her main goal to accomplish in the season.

"It's very exciting to be back at the school. Our main goal for the year is to focus on rebuilding by learning more about the game, improving skill and having fun to make sure the girls want to come back next year."

Warren said the team is going to be busy during the winter months as they are participating in two traveling tournaments, and their own home tournament.

"We are going to two tournaments and hosting a one day tournament as well, on top of league games and practices."

Even though this upcoming season may not be what the girls want it to be, you can expect the program to be solid in the coming years.
