The Kindersley Senior Klippers have officially returned home.  Saturday night saw the home opener for the Klippers at West Central Events Centre in Kindersley, an evening that celebrated past success and looked to the future.

Before the Klippers and Biggar Nationals hit the ice, some of the greatest players to don a Senior Klippers jersey were recognized in a Klippers Hall of Fame ceremony.

#1 Chuck Newmayer - goaltender with Senior Klippers

#6 Gary McManus - with the Klippers from 1975 to 1998. Winning 6 provincial titles in his time.

#10 Ed Young - played from 1966 till 1977 winning 5 provincial titles.

#12 Donnie Jackson - part of the Klippers teams 1964 untill 1980. He won 7 provincial titles for the Klippers.

#14 Wally Jackson -The Klippers had him suit up from 1955 to 1975. He collected 8 provincial titles.

Before the game Klippers legend Ronnie Cannon (who played from 1986-2005) dropped the first puck for this latest edition of the Senior Klippers squad and then the game began.

Jonny Calkins of the Klippers started the scoring off in the first period with help from Jesse Ismond and Jesse Pocock. This would be the lone goal of the period with both goaltenders busy, saving over 15 shots in the first, it would also prove to be the game winner.

In the second period Brody Ryberg would get his first of two goals on the night also with assists from Ismond and Pocock. Kyle Donaldson would pot his 5th of the season to end the second. 

In the third Ryberg and Calkins would each go for seconds during the American Thanksgiving weekend and when the buzzer sounded, the Klippers return home would end with a 5-0 victory over the Biggar Nationals. 

Klippers goaltender Luke Sproule made 43 saves on the night, while the Nationals Connor Kidd made 38 on the night.

Kindersley moves to a perfect 5-0 on the season with the win while Biggar remain in 3rd place in the SWHL with a 3-2-1 record.

The Kindersley Senior Klippers are will follow up Saturday night's win at home this Friday against the Unity Miners.  The Nationals travel to Macklin next to take on the Mohawks.
