Eight volleyball players from Plenty showed that big talent can come from a small town as they earned a silver placing at the Sask Cup #3 in Regina.

The tournament was a first for the team of girls including two in Grade 7, four in Grade 8 and two in Grade 9 who played with the North West Rush Club Volleyball 14U.

Coach, Mauri Swan, said “The girls did really well, we weren't sure what to expect because we have never been to a tournament, but they did really really well”.

Although only the top placing teams took home medals, the Plenty team took home silver in their Tier 2 division after beating out Moose Jaw but falling short to Kipling in the final.

“Everyone was pretty impressed, Sask Volleyball wondered where we came from, no one had heard of Plenty,” said Swan.

She added that for her girls to be right on par with teams from Moose Jaw was great to see and ended in a good first tournament for the team.
