The nearly undefeated Team Saskatchewan claimed gold at the 2019 Everest Canadian Seniors Women Curling Championships in Chilliwack, BC.

Three of the four women that make up Team Saskatchewan are no strangers to the west central region, including, Anita Silvernagle from Biggar and Sherry Anderson from Delisle, along with their two Saskatoon teammates, Brenda Goertzen and Patricia Hersikorn.

The championships got underway last Friday and the women wasted no time taking over the leader-board.

Team Saskatchewan were undefeated through their first six match-ups and fell short by one point to Team Ontario in their seventh. They pushed forward and claimed the win on their next match-up against Team Manitoba with a final score of 7 to 4.

Both Team Nova Scotia and Team Newfoundland and Labrador got the best of the team as the Saskatchewan women lost their next two games. However, they came back to beat out Alberta 6 to 4, positioning themselves in the gold medal game against Ontario.

The final game got underway yesterday afternoon, the four women brought their A-game and ended up defeating Team Ontario with a final score of 11 to7.
