There will be a new team wearing green and white jackets at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts next month.

Team Silvernagle, consisting of Biggar's Robyn Silvernagle and Delisle's Stefanie Lawton, won the Scotties Provincials Tournament final 6-5 yesterday evening in Humboldt over Delisle's Sherry Anderson and her rink.

Anderson, curling out of Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, held a 5-4 lead into the 9th end and was in prime position to book a second-consecutive spot at the Tournament of Hearts. Needing to score at least one to tie it, Silvernagle did just that in clutch fashion to send the final to the 10th.

Now tied 5-5, Silvernagle was able to bring herself into a title-clinching position with her rock closest to the button. With the hammer in-hand for the 10th, Anderson had the last shot to attempt another tie and extend the final to an 11th end.

But, her rocks wouldn't align for her as they did during last year's final, and Silvernagle ended up grabbing the steal.

Despite a large amount of respect between both sides, it was sweet revenge for Silvernagle capturing the victory after she fell to Anderson in last year's final in an extra end. This will be Robyn's first appearance at the national Tournament of Hearts while Lawton will play in her fifth tournament.

The Scotties Tournament of Hearts runs from February 16-24 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
