The 2A 6 man conference 2 season has wrapped up in the West Central region for the Unity Warriors and Kindersley Kobras high school football teams. The Warriors defeated the Kobras last night under the lights 52-48 to finish off they season undefeated at 6-0 and will have a bye next week. As for the Kobras that was there only loss of the season as they finished at 5-1. Kindersley will now play host to the Rosetown Rebels on Tuesday October 22 at 4 pm at KCS to see who will play Unity in the finals the week after. The game last night was played for Mental Health Awareness with proceeds from the 50/50s going towards Mental Health benefits. Players from the Unity Warriors were wearing green socks in support support of Mental Health Awareness. The Warriors had to come back on the Kobras as Kindersley got off to a 14-0 early and the Kobras had the half time lead 22-14. The Warriors came back in a big way in the third quarter holding off the Kobras and by the fourth it was 52-30 in favor of Unity. The Kobras did not go down without a fight, but it was not enough in the end as the Warriors held on for a 52-48 victory to secure 1st in the conference. Up next for the Warriors will be Wynyard in the Provincial Quarterfinals on Saturday October 26 at 1 pm in Unity.
