The village of Alsask and the RM of Milton have combined together to host the grand reopening of the Alsask Pool. The pool was built almost 50 years ago and has been an excellent source of fun and excercise ever since. It normally runs from April until September with around 500 kids signing up for swimming lessons each year.
Tragedy struck when a fire broke out in the boiler room near the end of 2011. Damage to the boiler room was extensive as both boilers were destoyed. The rebuilding began after that. Renovations to the bathrooms and filter rooms are complete. A new deck was installed, new benches and doors, and a new water line.
The event is planned for 2:30 on Saturday July 22nd. It's free for family swimming and inflatables will be in the pool that day.
