It looks like smooth sailing weather-wise this week around the West Central Region.

Terri Lang, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said a system developing in the United States currently might bring farmers in the area some rain and to those in the south-west portion of the province.

"What we would probably call a Wyoming or Colorado low, it's taking a straight west to east path thought," she said. "Again we might see some cloud over the southwest, might clip the southwest corner. All of the heavier amounts are forecast to be south of the border, so if anything does come through it looks more like showers and that type of thing."

Daytime highs for the week are mostly expected to range from 7 C to 14 C, with Sunday being the warmest.

"Some of the temperatures will run slightly colder than average through the mid-week, just because we're getting more of an arctic high that's coming in," Lang said. "What that tends to do is bring sort of that colder air in, so we might see some colder overnight lows."
