The Biggar Museum began their Christmas Magic Silent auction mid-way through November and have encountered some high-end prizes during the auction. This past weekend, the Silent Auction wrapped up and it turned out to be another successful year for the Museum.

Businesses and individuals in the area donate gifts to the Biggar Museum and then members in the community have a chance to come in to the Museum and bid on the items. This year, there were 120 bidders that were involved.

Delta Fay Cruickshank, a member of the Biggar Museum, talks about how important this Silent Auction is to the Museum and the overall result from it.

"Our Museum stays open all year long, and it's mainly because of this fundraiser that we are able to accomplish that. Each month we try and come up with unique ideas that engage the community and it all works out in the end."

Christmas is always a busy time for the Museum because of the Silent Auction, but the Museum will continue to have a busy schedule once the holiday season comes to an end. Cruickshank talked about upcoming plans for the Museum.

"We will be busy in January because that's when we start to invite members from the school to come see the Museum. In February, the students get a chance to display their school projects inside the Museum, and it draws lots of attention."

It's the most wonderful time of the year for the Biggar Museum, and will be for the foreseeable future.
