After being treated to a warm start to the new year, Mother Nature is about to unleash on Saskatchewan. Most of West Central Saskatchewan is under a blowing snow warning this morning.
A cold front is moving through that will create winds in the 50 km per hour range that will kick up the fresh snow. Officials say that combination will severely reduce visibility in some areas late Monday morning. Travel is expected to be hazardous and drivers are being reminded to prepare accordingly. Conditions should start to improve Monday evening on the west side of the province and then move to the east overnight. Behind the system is a pocket of cold air that will hit overnight, making it feel like -30 at times with warmer air returning by Thursday.
