Update: January 3rd, 8:45AM

The Warman RCMP Detachment have confirmed that there was one fatality at the scene of the collision on Highway 7 yesterday afternoon.

A 17 year old male passenger was pronounced dead. The 17 year old female driver of the pickup truck was transported to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with undetermined injuries.

A traffic analyst was called to the scene and the investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing. RCMP are unsure if charges will be laid.

Highway 7 was reopened at around 10:00 PM on Thursday evening according to the Warman RCMP Detachment.

Members of the Warman RCMP Detachment are currently at the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 7, at the west exit at Vanscoy.

Both west bound and east bound lanes of traffic are blocked and traffic is being diverted around the collision.

It is not known when the highway will be reopened at this time.
