The Equestrian Vaulting group held a fundraiser on February 1st to raise money for specialized equipment needed for training.
Equestrian Vaulting is when one or more people preform a gymnastic routine while riding on the back of a horse. The group consists of kids that travel from Biggar, Unity, Spirtwood, and Saskatoon to the training centre in North Battleford.
The night consisted of 10 of the group members performing individual freestyle routines and then a number of group routines. Following supper entertainment continued with Cowboy Poetry by Jason Hanley (who's daughter is one of the club members) and his partner Jimmy Boswell.
Coach, Charlene Chapman said, "We chose to do cowboy poetry because of our roots and we have a lot of western families."
"In the end, the club surpassed their fundraising goal" said Tina Sims, one of the parent volunteers helping with the event that night.
