The towns of Eston and Eatonia are following the orders sent out by the government of Saskatchewan after they declared a state of emergency on March 18, as both town offices are closed to the public as of March 26, as it was ordered to do so by the provincial government.

"Everyone is trying to do their best to stop the spread and flatten the curve. The town office in Eatonia is closed to the public but the staff is still working. We are exercising social distancing here in the office and sanitizing on a regular basis," says Eatonia town Administrator Cheryl Bailey.

Bailey continued saying, "the grocery stores, post office, restaurant for take out only, convenience store and gas station are the only businesses open. Main Street is quiet and no one going to coffee row right now."

The Town of Eston is practicing the same measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as the AGT Community Centre has been closed since March 23, along with the public library. The town office remains open, but it is closed to the general public as of March 23, as phone calls can still be made, and payments can be dropped off at a drop box outside the office.
