Campgrounds in the west central region are getting the green light to open today, and Eston Riverside Regional Park’s Karen Mullis says people who had reservations kept them for the most part.

“Sites are available for June, we had pre bookings for July and most of those have held their bookings,” she said. “We will possibly have a few empty sites in July,” Mullis added.

Provincial Parks like the Saskatchewan Landing are able to open today as well, and just recently got a stimulus package from the Provincial Government. The Saskatchewan Landing will be getting a new campground service centre and visitor reception centre as part of the stimulus package. The package includes $10.3 million going towards provincial parks in Saskatchewan.

As for Eston Riverside, Mullis also said that she hopes to open the patio, as it is licensed, and limiting it to 50% capacity. “We may being doing that in June, but we don’t know yet,” Mullis added.
