On December 22, Herschel resident, Jeffery Wiens, was shocked when he received a phone call from his partner telling him that they had won 1 million dollars.

“She called and told me that we won $1 million,” he said. “All I could think to say was, ‘Are you messing with me?" Luckily this wasn't the case and his Lotto 6/49 ticket was in fact a winner.

Wiens isn't quite sure yet what he will do with his winnings saying, “It was hard to come up with things to do, you always kind of think about what it would be like to win, but it’s different when it actually happens.”

Wiens purchased his winning ticket at Kindersley Shell and Car Wash, located at 400 12th Avenue East in Kindersley.
