As the new year begins, the most common resolution is to hit the gym and work on a new, healthier lifestyle.

Angela Cullen, Manager of Anytime Fitness in Kindersley said, "The number one reason people fail is because they come in without a plan. It's best to make a plan of what you're going to do the night before hitting the gym."

This will ensure that once you're there, you'll feel more comfortable and ready to get started each day.

Cullen also suggested that you start off by slowly introducing yourself to the gym. "Come in and do a quick ten to twenty minute workout for the first little while and then slowly increase your workouts to thirty or forty five minutes."

People often find workouts online and dive into things a little to hard in the beginning, which tends to leave us feeling pretty sore and uncomfortable. This, in turn, makes it harder for someone to want to continue their fitness journey.

Another great way to introduce yourself to the gym is to sign up for an introductory class. This way someone can walk you through the gym and help you get a feel for how each piece of equipment works. This will help you feel more confident on those first few days to a newer, healthier you.
