The wheels are in motion to get the Kerrobert Senior Tigers back in action for the next SWHL season.

After having to pull the team from the schedule this season due to player shortage and scheduling conflicts of those players committed, a meeting was recently held to determine if a come-back is possible.

The checklist of people and items is not short one as the Sr. Tigers not only look for players that are in it for the long run, the team is also searching for executives to add to the team as well. The meeting did make some headway as the head coach position was filled along with 4 other executive members.

Trevor Kissick, president and manager for the Sr. Tigers, said they are looking to get a good core group of players for the upcoming year and are hoping to attract talent from the neighboring communities as well. Kissick also said they are actively looking for import players that would join the team to add a heightened skill level and are hoping to have three on board by July.

"We are looking to get a new team of guys, some younger who are in it for the long-term. We don't want to just get a team together for one season and be done," said Kissick.

Kissick also touched on the competitiveness of the Sr. Tigers and stated they want to have a team that can grow together and be a contender in the league.

The absence of the Sr. Tigers hasn't just been felt by the faithful fans that filled the stands, Kissick said that the Town's Recreation Department has also taken a financial hit with the team not participating in the league this year. He stated that between the ice fees, concession sales and all that comes with the games, the department has likely taken a $30,000 hit.

Currently the team is still in search to fill the positions of assistant coach, trainer and equipment manager while also planning sufficient fundraising opportunities to assist with the financial end of rebuilding the team.

In a continued effort to keep the momentum rolling, another meeting will be held February 13, 2019 that will be open to the public.
