The Rosetown RCMP Report from the dates of June 19-25, 2020 saw an individual mis-use 9-1-1 twice, a response to a hit-and-run, and multiple responses to aggressive driving.

Rosetown RCMP wish to remind individuals that 9-1-1 is to be used for emergencies and/or to report crimes in progress, not for information purposes. This comes after an individual contacted 9-1-1 to ask if they could continue driving after being pulled over for invalid registration. 310-RCMP (310-7867), or would be an appropriate number to call for instances such as this. Also issued was a reminder that it is an offense to misuse 9-1-1, and individuals who do so may be charged.

On the afternoon of June 22nd, Rosetown RCMP were dispatched to a hit-and-run with vehicle damage on Main Street in Rosetown. The vehicle involved was parked in front of Pharmasave in Rosetown, and was found to be damaged upon return by the driver. The matter is under investigation.

During the morning of June 24th, members responded to multiple calls of aggressive driving. On Highway 7 East of Rosetown, a semi driver allegedly performed a dangerous pass causing another semi to quickly brake and drive on the shoulder of the highway to avoid a potential collision. The offending driver was located and charged under the Traffic Safety Act.

Not long after, Rosetown RCMP were dispatched to another complaint of aggressive driving on Highway 7, east of Rosetown. The semi driver allegedly performed a dangerous pass and drove in the oncoming passing lane, crossing a double solid line to do so. The involved parties were later involved in an argument about the situation in the Rosetown A&W restaurant. A member attended and diffused the situation, and charged the semi driver under the Traffic Safety Act.

On the afternoon of June 24th, Rosetown RCMP were advised that an electronic device had been located in the back alley of King Street. If anyone has any knowledge of this electronic device or its owner, please contact the Rosetown RCMP.

The next day around noon, Rosetown members received a complaint regarding the missing livestock in the Tessier area. Six sheep were reported missing, and are believed to have been stolen.

Members also dealt with dispute between neighbors over a barking dog, two (2) false alarms, and one (1) motor vehicle collision involving wildlife. RCMP performed two (2) check-stops throughout the week and issued 55 Traffic Safety Act charges.
