The Town of Kindersley and Red Cross are helping local residents that are dealing with the aftermath of yesterdays flash flood. The vicious storm that tore through the town last night has left many with flooded basements and other damage caused by broken trees and blowing debris caused by the large amounts of rain, hail and strong winds.

Kindersley's Fire Chief, Ron Hope, said their entire crew was deployed last night between five different calls and was able to assist those needing immediate assistance.
Red Cross will also be delivering 100 flood clean up kits which are expected to arrive today between 2-3 p.m. The kits will include mops, gloves and other cleaning supplies that will further assist those who experienced flooding in their homes.

Anyone who would like a kit can pick one up, and start the application for disaster relief at the Town Office from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, and during regular business hours there after.

In addition to the preliminary help from Red Cross, the town will be sending in an application to the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP). This program aims to provide help to anyone who experienced loss or damages over and above their own insurance.

In order to be apart of the application, residents must first put through a claim with their own insurance company to assess what damages are covered. Applicants can then call the town office, provide their name, civic address and estimated damages to be added to the application process.
