Local students rallied together to raise funds for one Rosetown Central High School family. When tragedy hit the family, the SRC students decided they wanted to help out in any way they could.

SRC president Isabella Deleon said she brought forward the idea of raising money, upon hearing of the sudden passing of one of her classmates family members. The SRC decided they would hold a popcorn sale and a bake sale, donating all the proceeds to the family. The school also opted to add money from a taco in a bag sale as well as money from their annual haunted house to the total.

“I tried to imagine if it was my family and I wanted to help in some way,” said the grade 12 student.

Deleon shared that the bake sale itself raised $348.75-in just 20 minutes. She said she was touched by the support and at how some kids refused their change to give a bigger donation.
