The Rosetown RCMP have received a number of reports about scam phone calls over the last week. In a report provided by the local detachment, the scammers are asking individuals to provide their SIN, and bank account information. The scammers operation has also been known to 'spoof' local phone numbers including the local RCMP detachment.

The local RCMP want to remind people to NEVER give any personal information to individuals you do not know, and if ever in doubt always call the RCMP before agreeing to any callers request.

Also included in the weekly RCMP report for the detachment:

  • Received a request for a wellbeing check. Members attended and transported the male to hospital for assessment.
  • Received a report of a sexual assault. The matter is still under investigation.
  • Rosetown RCMP received a report of a missing person. The male returned home safely and nothing further was required.
  • Rosetown RCMP received a report of fraud. There was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges.
  • Rosetown RCMP received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 4 near Elrose, SK. Members were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Rosetown RCMP received a report of a fraud matter. There was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges.
  • Rosetown RCMP received a report of an alarm at a Rosetown business. Members attended and it was a false alarm.
