The most recent RCMP report out of Rosetown saw a string of thefts take place last week, as well as an intoxicated driver, and a reminder of potential scams around the area.

On the morning of Friday March 13th, the Rosetown RCMP responded to two different complaints of break, enter, and theft, and one strict theft that took place overnight.

First off in the morning, the RCMP received a call about a break, enter & theft from a private shed, located on a commercial property just south of Rosetown. Numerous items were stolen from the shed, after culprits gained entry by prying the lock and breaking the wooden doors. The items stolen from the shed include a red wagon, a .22 rifle, compound bow, hunting knives, and a pellet gun. The break in is believed to have happened overnight.

Later on, members of the Rosetown Detachment received a complaint of a break, enter & theft from an RV parked at the rear of Integrity RV on Hwy 4 North in Rosetown. The theft was also said to have happened overnight, as entry was gained to the RV by prying the unit’s door open, and a TV was stolen.

The last complaint received from the night before was about a theft of a battery from a utility trailer at Western Sales in Rosetown.

Late on March 14th, members of the Rosetown Detachment and Rosetown Traffic Service Unit, attended a break and enter in progress at a local business in Rosetown. The lone male in the situation was apprehended after attempting to flee the scene in a van. A 48-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with Dangerous operation of a vehicle, Flight from police, Break & Enter, Theft, Mischief and Possession of Break-in Instruments. The man was remanded in custody for Court in Saskatoon.

On March 15th at approximately 3 pm, members of the Rosetown Detachment received a complaint of a suspicious person, who had entered a yard with a residence in the RM of St.Andrews. Upon arrival, members, located an intoxicated individual and arrested him for Impaired Operation of a Vehicle. A 49-year-old Saskatoon man was charged with Impaired Driving. He makes his first Court appearance in Rosetown on April 22, 2020.

Also included is a reminder to the public, that there is a number of scams going on across the area, some having to do with the paranoia of COVID-19, and some regarding problems with payment methods, and the most recent having to do with a potential SIN scam. The Saskatchewan RCMP has stated that patrols will continue, despite the closure of detachment doors.
