Rosetown traffic services had a busy week at the end of August. Most items on the report of calls for the week ending August 29th were incidents of drivers operating a vehicle while impaired. Local RCMP also handed out another ticket for the possession of illicit cannabis. All together the local detachment, along with traffic services, issues 84 tickets and conducted 1 check stop. A full break down of the report follows:

  • August 25: Members of traffic Services, had occasion to stop a vehicle on Highway 4 South of Rosetown. The driver of the vehicle displayed signs of impairment and was returned to the Rosetown Detachment. At the detachment he provided breath samples in excess of .08. The 36 year old Medicine Hat man has been charge and is set to make his first court appearance in Rosetown on October 24th.
  • August 25: Members of Rosetown stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. While doing so, it was discovered that the driver was in possession of illegal cannabis. A ticket was issued under the Cannabis Control Act of Saskatchewan.
  • August 27: Members of the Rosetown Detachment received a complaint of a theft from a vehicle that was located in the R.M. of St. Andrews. It appears an unknown individual entered the vehicle and stile an assortment of power tools. The culprit also sole the pump off of a large fuel tank and a acetylene torch and tanks. RCMP are asking anything with information about this crime to contact the local detachment or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
  • Aug 28: Members of Rosetown Traffic services received a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 4, south of Rosetown. Members were able to intercept the vehicle. A 32 year old Red Deer man has been charge with 'while driving over .08' and he has been scheduled to make an appearance in court on October 24th in Rosetown.
  • August 28: Members of the Rosetown detachment responded to a complaint of an intoxicated female hitchhiking on Highway 7 near Rosetown. The individual was located and found to be in breach of her Conditional Sentence. She was arrested and remanded in custody for court in Saskatoon.
  • August 28: Members of the Rosetown and Kindersley RCMP received a complaint of a driver disobeying a flag person, in the construction zone on Highway 7 near McGee. Kindersley RCMP members were able to locate the vehicle and charge the driver with failing to obey the direction of a flag person.

Local RCMP want to remind everyone to obey construction zone posting, and to reduce their speeds in construction zones.
