The most recent report of calls from the Rosetown RCMP, February 20 to March 5, reveals that the local detachment dealt with a number of stolen property crimes across their patrol area, and a few traffic incidents.

On February 26th an RCMP member stopped a vehicle on highway 4 near Elrose. The member pulled the vehicle over for a routine traffic stop. During the stop the RCMP noticed items in the vehicle, further investigation revealed the property to be stolen. Now a 40 year old male, 38 year old male,  32 year old male, and a 40 year old female have all been arrested and charged. Each are facing charges of being in possession of stolen property. They'll make their first court appearance in Rosetown on April 9th.

Other highlights from the RCMP report include:

  • RCMP members stopped a pair of snowmobiles on a grid road south of Rosetown. One of the drivers fled the scene across and open field, while the second driver's flee was unsuccessful. A 50 year old Rosetown man is now facing a number of charges and will make his first court appearance in Rosetown on April 23. RCMP are still looking for the second driver.
  • Rosetown RCMP members received a call of a break and enter to the Harris grocery store. Culprits gained entry into the store and stole a large amount of liquor, cigarettes, and two laptops. The matter is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call their local detachment.
  • Members responded to a complaint of theft in the village of Fiske. It appears someone stole the coin box from the village's water well, The theft is believed to of occurred around February 23rd. If you have any information on the crime you're asked to contact your local detachment.
  • RCMP received a complaint of a collision on Highway 7 near Harris. A semi truck travelling eastbound collided with debris that came off of a truck and trailer traveling west bound. The semi driver took evasive action, but debris still caused damage to his windshield. The driver of the westbound vehicle did not stop. Anyone with information is asked to call their local detachment.
  • RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter into a rural residence in the R.M. of Monet. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. Cash and cigarettes were stolen.
  • Members responded to a complaint of assault at a residence in Rosetown. A male and female became involved in a verbal disagreement, which became physical. A 30 year old woman has been charged with assault, and will make her first appears in court on March 26th.
