UPDATE:

Kerrobert RCMP confirms that the roadways at this collision have been cleared and normal traffic flow has been reestablished.

Yesterday at 4: 26 pm members from the Kindersley RCMP, Fire, and EMS were called to the intersection of Hwy 51/21 and Hwy 31.

An Eastbound Semi hauling two trailers of canola on hwy 51/21 and a converted school bus travelling southeast on hwy 31 with 15 oil or pipeline workers collided at the intersection of the two highways.

The school bus came to rest on its side in the north ditch and the semi came to stop near the center of hwy 31 in the intersection facing north.

The adult male driver of the Semi unit was not injured.  Of the 16 people on the bus, 10 were injured.

Three people were taken to Saskatoon by STARS, three were transported by Ambulance to Kerrobert and Unity hospitals.  The other four persons were treated on scene.   The female driver of the bus was not injured.  None of the injuries are consisted life threatening at the time

An RCMP Collision reconstructionist attended to the scene and the roads were closed until approximately 5:00 am this morning for investigation and safety of the members at the scene.

At this point in the investigation alcohol is not believed to be factor in the Collison, but the sequence of events that lead up to and caused the collision are still under investigation.

RCMP have provided an update on the passengers who were involved in the accident in Kerrobert earlier today.

Kerrobert RCMP advise that there were 16 people on the bus involved in the accident. 10 people were transported to Kerrobert hospital with undetermined injuries. 3 people were further transported to Saskatoon for further medical assistance (2 went by STARS and 1 by ambulance).

The remaining 7 persons are expected to receive medical assistance at the Kerrobert hospital without further transport. 

The collision is currently under investigation. It is expected that there will be road restrictions until at least 2:00 a.m. When the roadways are open again another update will be sent out.

Emergency crews attended a vehicle collision in Kerrobert early Friday evening.

Kerrobert RCMP were the first to notify residents and motorists that they were at the scene of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highways 21, 31 and 51 in the community. Involved in the accident were a semi hauling grain and a bus carrying pipeline workers.

Two people are injured and were taken to hospital via STARS helicopter ambulance. There is no update yet on the extent of their injuries.

According to police, the collision occurred at the northwestern edge.

Officers needed to reroute traffic as a collision analyst is attending the crash site. The intersection may be closed for a few hours yet and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
